Food and the Duggars
After seeing the Duggars on TLC, I went to their personal website and browsed around. I looked at the recipes section and was impressed with the homemade cleaner recipes. However, I noticed that all the food recipes contain prepackaged, canned, or frozen ingredients. I understand that making food for 19-20 people necessitates some use of these packaged items and that fresh food prep takes extra time. However, I wonder if the Duggars have considered gardening and growing a larger portion of their own food. This would be extremely cost-effective and would be much more environmentally-friendly and sustainable than packaged food that travels thousands of miles to their table. It seems that people with such strong religious conviction would feel a close connection to God through using and protecting one of His greatest gifts, the green earth. Has this already been addressed? If so, I apologize.

That is good to know. They should talk about it on their website!

They have an upcoming book due for release in early December, maybe they'll go into more details there about this issue.
